Christmas ( es ) Past …
… As an aviator whose involvement in the craft began in earnest in 1971 as a student pilot in Windsor Ontario Canada, and I have continued until this very day. I am thankful to have had such a dynamic career. Early in my aviation endeavours some people shook their head and said never, a few others encouraged me along in my journey. For an insight to some of those Christmas’s past along the airway-highway, have a look at this previous Christmas blog…
Christmas Present …
Much of my concern about “what was happening” turned out to be based on fact not fiction. This does not mean however that I do not see the beauty of what the Lord has done and is doing in these times. I have recovered some old friends from decades from long ago, with those relationships proving through the test of time and the test of our times.
My last flight this past year was just a couple weeks ago now, with the night circuits being completed for currency purposes. I have always understood that indeed every flight, like every day may be the last. Something that can not be overstated. So, in my head this time of year, I review some of the more interesting things I experienced within the aviation world and outside it. For a look at one of this year’s more interesting flights read this …
Some, a small few friends and family members distanced themselves from me for some of my divergent views from the mainstream narrative as promulgated by the mass media big Pharma and big government. I am sorry for those losses and will always still love those who maybe now love me less because I see things differently… My door, and my heart are always open. Christmas time is the time to remember the real reason for the season! Jesus Christ, my Lord, and my Saviour. He came into this world to model for us a picture of true agape, unconditional love. If you haven’t yet, pick up a Bible and read how God spoke us into being. The greatest story ever told can be found on the pages within.
Christmas Future…
… is always an unknown.
At my stage in life I can honestly say the clock is running out. Recently I was reminded about just how much times has passed since that first flight. The very first airplane type I flew, was a PA-28-140, a Piper Cherokee, as I parked alongside it on the Muncie with the TBM 940 I was flying. 1971 to 2023… The calendar is NOT lying.
I am especially grateful for those who have made the journey to this point, including Robin whom I married in 1978… children Jeff and Alicia and to the many dear friends and colleagues I would dearly love to mention by name but shouldn’t … But YOU know who you are ! You all made a difference!
I am also thankful for the opportunity given me to grow in my faith, my flying, and yes, my home grown music …. One day I just might get around to take some music lessons … I did NOT say I was any good, but it has been a lifelong passion, and like so many other things in my life I was and am pretty much self-taught, but inspired by so many others to “try it out”!
I can say also I have HOPE because I have FAITH, and I believe I have been living, that I am living, and I will be living with love and peace that transcends all earthly understandings. Because of course I have a friend named Jesus …
Merry Christmas to all, and I do mean to ALL, because Jesus is the reason for the season!
